Halifax's very own psych rock band Walrus will be playing Field Trip Music & Arts Festival on June 3.

The band's debut album Family Hangover, out June 9 via Madic Records, mixes electronic, pop and psychedelic rock. Walrus will be playing most of the album live at Field Trip.

Lead singer Justin Murphy, who also plays guitar and synths, says his favourite song to perform live is "Wearing It" off their EP Goodbye Something

"You should come see us at Field Trip because you've most likely already seen the other headliners before, so come see something new," encourages Murphy.

Murphy says he's excited to be playing Field Trip because of all the great acts on the lineup.

"If you told me when I was 16 or 15 that I was going to play a festival with Broken Social Scene, I would've never believed you."

Watch Walrus perform at Field Trip this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on the Fort York stage.

The interview below aired on Arts & Culture on the Morning Mixtape, hosted by Nicole Di Donato. In the interview, they talked about Walrus' debut album Family Hangover and how the band feels about being part of Field Trip.
