CJRU is Hiring: Morning Host - posting closed

CJRU | The Scope at Ryerson is looking for a host/producer for our weekday drive-time morning program. The show will be predominately a music program along with some interviews and news. Musical selections will predominately be Special Interest music (category 3).


  • Working with the Program Director, design a program that can be broken up into segments and produced by volunteers at the station.

  • Produce and host a live morning program from 8am-10am Monday-Friday.

  • Assist in the training of new volunteers through shadowing, mentoring, assigning segments and assessing/editing segments produced by volunteers.

  • Chase and produce at least one interview per episode.

  • Read news scripts provided by news producers.

  • Log all assets played.

  • Edit podcast version of program.



  • Previous experience hosting and producing a radio program.

  • Audio editing experience.

  • A background in and a love for campus radio.

  • A passion for Special Interest (category 3) genre(s).

  • Non-profit/community experience either paid or volunteer is an asset.

  • Punctual, reliable, and personable.


Contract Terms

6 month contract commencing in March 2016

20-25 hours per week
