It is a big day here at CJRU The Scope. It is one year since the good news arrived: our application for 1280AM was approved! To celebrate we are up on the roof to set up our Site to Studio Transmission. The weather is smiling on us.

Before the Holiday Break, we wanted to bring you The Countdown to 1280AM

January 15-Feb.8: If you want to be part of the launch volunteer team, CJRU is offering a series training sessions and planning workshops from January 15-25th for new volunteers. Email Mark to on the list:

Feb 13-March 13: Analog Testing is Completed.

March 26-April 7: Launch Time Activities! Tune in 1280AM when Ryerson as long last raises its voice as the Sound of Downtown, broadcasting on a hyper-local signal in Toronto's core. What song should we play first? Help us choose: submit a track by a Local Artist, email it to and be entered in a draw to win Student Prize Bucket.
Thank you Ryerson staff, students and neighbours for supporting non profit radio this year,
Jacky Tuinstra Harrison and Elissa Matthews, on behalf of the CJRU Staff
